Train museum

For the first time in a long time, we had a weekend that didn't involve chores or snow, so we decided to have some fun.  We went to see trains.

In Golden, there is a train museum with lots of old trains mostly to enjoy from the outside.  There was a couple toy train tables set up inside of one car for kids to play with.  Naturally, we spent some time there.

We rode on a "galloping goose" train they used to run down in southern Colorado.  It has a gasoline truck engine.  The "engineers" took a quick break to eat lunch, so I gave the boy box of raisins explaining that the guy was having a snack and would be right back.  The boy popped a raisin, and said "I'm having a snack, too."  A 5 word sentence!  Milestones!!

And we got to ring a bell.

Swing swing swing

After a long 2.5 hours at pre school, sometimes you just have to blow off steam.  We often play at the school playground afterwards when the weather is nice.  The weather has been nice enough that the snow has retreated back to a few soggy patches or giant mountains ahead of the latest blizzard.  Surprisingly, most of the kids at his school left right after the bell, but our boy wanted to linger on.  And why not?  He fortunately brought a friend to push on the swing.

Hot Lava!

We had a birthday party at a fancy indoor play ground last weekend.  The boy was at first over whelmed by the choices of what to do.  And then, as the place filled up, was overwhelmed by all the kids running around.  But he found his groove once we figured out how to shoot the foam ball gun.

And then there was this dystopian nightmare.
