I had a bad idea

Baby's hair is always giving me fits.  He wont sit still when i cut it, so it's choppy and uneven.  Today, i thought it would be a good idea to take the clippers to it.

It was not a good idea.

Pinterest win

Im obsessed with Pinterest. I am a firm believer that many of lifes problems can be solved if you search long enough.

But sometimes, i guess my kid isnt as enlightened as the children of all the mommy bloggers cuz he was NOT entertained by baking soda with vinegar, or moon mud or pullin ribbons through a box.  and he wasnt fooled by broccoli shaped like tator tots.

This was a win.  Contact paper taped sticky side out, and a bunch of odds and ends with which to experiment.

Baby had an interestimg time, placing the various bits, then rearranging them.  Sticking his finger on it, pulling my hand to do it, too.

I do wonder, at moments loke these, what my pioneer formothers would do to entertain their children.  Or mothers in depressed countries today.

Andrew and i were talking in the aisle of the store, when i looked up, i couldn't see baby.  Andrew condecendingly pointed toward a shelf.

Like aunt like nephew

One time, i was hanging out with my sister as she recovered from surgery.  We'd bought groceries (including a box of crackers) in preparation of staying in.  At the end of the afternoon, i noticed the box was empty.   This sister looked a bit sheepish when she admitted "i really like wheat thins".  It seems baby has inherited the same interest.

We were getting ready to leave the house to run errands, but changed our minds when we left the house.  So cold. Snowy. Slippery.  Poor baby was making his way back to the house, turned like he wanted to come back to me, and fell.  He smacked this nose on thr step of the porch and did a number.

This is the day after, so he's in a better mood.  The swelling is still significant, and the scab is a lot bigger. The  bruse on his eyelid was there before.
