Halloween: the main event

Our ward did a chili night and trunk-or-treat the other night, which we went to.  I had too much anxiety from baby's head wound earlier  Andrew was too tired from work so we didn't get a picture.

Baby was Superman and we were the Kenta. With his bleeding Head, we had no choice but to lean into it.  We all added some face paint, red, black, and green, to be Bizzaro versions  (which Andrew assures me is a thing).

But today is Halloween.  He got to go to his first real door.  He can say "treat", which took a few doors to get down.

Here he is at our neighbor's door.     I think the thing he was most excited about, really, was being able to go up to the door and not be shooed  away.  He loves to run up the lawns and I'm always pulling him away.

It was the cutest thing ever, watching him run up the sidewalks to houses, with his cape billowing behind.  We went to at 6 more houses than necessary because I loved it so much.

Pumpkin and blood

We finally got around to decorating our pumpkins.  We carved ours, but baby painted his.

We striped him down and let him do his thing.  It was so cute, he would very carefully dip a finger in paint, put his face quite close to the pumpkin and deliberately, judiciously put paint on a single swipe.  The use both hands to mix the delicate arc of paint into the mass.  Then he's put his paint covered hands on my leg.

He took a header off the foyer step and into the coffee table.  It was quite a gash.

Pumpkin patch 2017

Andrew got Wednesday off instead of his usual Monday.  We took advantage of the beautiful autumn day to go to a pumpkin patch.  Well, it was more of a kiddie fall fun land, with pumpkins for purchase at the end.  There were picture cut outs, which baby pushed me out of the way to get into.

A new thing for us, a duckie race.  Water flows down a pipe, and kids can put a rubber duck at the top, then the water is piped back up to the top.  baby thought it was the best thing ever.

There were also a couple inflatable activities: a platform to run and jump in, a dragon obstacle course, and a maze.  We put baby on the dragon, which annoyed him right away because he didn't get a chance to look things over first.  Fortunately, some bigger kids came along and climbed right up, then slid right down.  One kid kind of pushed baby down the slide, which was exactly what he needed.

There was a petting zoo.

Earlier that week: baby thought I needed to climb into his covered little red wagon. I did only barely fit.

then at the dollar store, the little cars needed to line up for their tune up.

Team sports

Baby and I went to the park, as we do most days.  There was a kid soccer class about to start.  He stole a kid's soccer ball and had a great time almost but not white getting in everyone's way.

And the other day, we had an adventure at Target. On the way home, he must have been unable to decide if he was more hungry or more tired.
