Rest for the weary

Baby has not been sleeping We'll, and as a result I have not been sleeping well.  We were up most of the night Sunday. Ight and Monday night.   I am exhausted.  Andrew has taken his turns with baby, as well.  But this kid is still groaning and crying in his sleep despite all efforts.  Making the room warmer, cooler, with a fan and with out.
Getting him full of good  (when he eats).  Shortening his nap time.  Putting him to bed a little early.

Today, after a sleepless night, then a day at the babysitter's, he does this:

And last week at the super market, baby felt the candy bars needed reorganization.

House painting

When we moved in a couple years ago, our house was painted in the usual pallet of the suburbs.  Beige on beige.  It was in decent condition when we moved in, but the weather took it's toll in the passing summers and winters.  Plus, some of the wood outside was starting to rot.

Well, I can paint a house well enough, but fixing rotted wood is another story.  Rather than spend most of the summer inexpertly replacing wood, scrapping, sanding, power washing and the rest, we scrapped up the cash to get it done professionally.

Before - rotted siding

During - picking paint colors.  Three shades of gray, three of yellow, two of blue, and one white.

After - front

The front door, in the brighter blue.

You look like the 4th of July!

We had an eventful enough end of June/beginning of July.  One sister with her family came out for a couple days, on their way to UT, and baby had fun with his cousin.  We went to the Children's Museum.

When that family left, we followed a day later.  While there, one sister traded places with the other, and baby got to go crazy with another set of cousins.

It was difficult to get a good picture of all of them, though, as kids on general are in constant movement.

After hitting the favorite eating places for shakes and Navajo tacos, and a few outings to shoot at targets, we found possibly the only body of water in the desert.

Snow run off makes a small man made lake.  It dries up as the summer passes, but while it's there, it's lovely.
