One little bear in a big ocean

I thought he might be scared of the size or sound of the ocean, but he was so curious.

He tried to sit down in the surf to get closer.

He had so much fun digging in the sand like a little crab.

Point Pleasant lived up to its name.
Feeding the seagulls in Asbury Park.
Some of the artwork on the boardwalk in Asbury park.  There were several panels along a building of several styles, all incredible.  This is just one.

Herd immunity

Baby got five shots today, including a flu shot.  This week was going to be tough anyway with teeth coming in, but shots make it worse.

Five shots and one blood draw.  He got through the blood draw like a champ, more annoyed about not being able to move around than the pipette.  The shots were another story.  He was in a deep cry, where his face turned red, mouth open, but no sound coming out.

Poor baby.  But, as I told him, he did it before and got through it.  He can do hard things.  Its a little pain now to ward off lots of pain later.  He's a good baby.  No afermations worked.  Only cuddles, a bottle, and a nap, in that order.

Worth a few sleepless nights

Baby had started to sleep through the night, and it was magical.  However, the spell was broken this past week, with several episodes in one night, then one episode per night.  Regression is tough.

Right before his first birthday, I noticed he was get tube his first tooth. Yeah!  A little behind normal,  but I'll take it.  He wasn't acting grumpy at all like I'd been led to expect.  Cutting teeth is difficult, painfully business,  but baby was doing it without a whimper!

But now comes the second round.  It looked like he was getting a top lateral incisor, rather than the other central incisor on the bottom.  Weird, but okay.  It's hard to follow the progress of the little tooth buds, because baby won't exactly show them off.  Once in a while, you can catch a glimpse.

Yes, Andrew is holding baby upside down.

It's hard to see, but it looks to me like all FOUR top teeth are coming at once.  Or dropping, but only one has cut.  Or something.  I'm not sure of the terminology.

So congrats, baby.  You're in for a rough ride.

On a separate note, Andrew got off early on Friday, so we took the opportunity to visit the open house for the new Ft Collins temple.  It's going on for another week or so, but Saturday is super crowded.  It is beautiful, of course, with a feel of the older temples.  Curved ceilings, and lots of gorgeous stained glass.

There's a visitor tent so you can learn more about temples, and about this one in particular.  Then a big still shot of the temple you can get your picture taken in front of.  No worrying about other pesky toutists.

This is not that picture.

There are plenty of pics of the building all over the Internet.  How many are of us?  Not nearly so many.
